What should I clean my Biroix with?
Use mild detergents, soft sponges and soft brushes. Stubborn stains can be removed using a suitable non-metallic scouring pad and mild detergents specially formulated for cleaning cast ironware.
Cleaning your Cast Iron Dutch Oven or Skillet Pan
Watch this short video on how to clean simple stains and messes. Same instructions apply for your Skillet Pan.
Step 1.
For particularly stubborn or baked-in stains, first fill your Skillet Pan or Dutch Oven with hot, soapy water and let it sit for half an hour or longer. This should soften the stains.
Step 2.
Now use a mild detergent specially formulated for cleaning cast ironware (there are plenty of options out there) with a non-metallic scouring pad. If you don’t have this detergent on hand, you can try baking soda!
Step 3.
Brush or scrub back and forth over the stains applying as much pressure as needed until the stains are removed.
Step 4.
Rub your finger over some smaller, stubborn stains.
Step 5.
Wash your Biroix thoroughly with a regular, mild detergent after using these kinds of cleaning agents.
Step 6.
Rinse well and dry with a paper towel or clean hand towel.
